Jess and Sam
August 15, 2020
Jess and Sam’s charming backyard wedding was so beautiful and true to who they are as a couple! It was the perfect location for their family and close friends to celebrate. During the ceremony, Jess and Sam each wrote their own vows, which were so meaningful! We could clearly see the full impact of their words upon each other and how heartfelt their words were to each other. And when Sam had difficulty talking through his vows because he was so emotional, it truly showcased how much love is between those two.
Family love
The speeches are one of our favorite parts of a wedding and the speeches honoring Jess and Sam did not disappoint! They really help us to get a better sense of the bride and groom from the perspective of their family and friends. Sam’s dad is so proud of his son and spoke to how he has grown into a wonderful man, and he knows that Jess and Sam will be amazing together. Jess’s dad highlighted the special relationship Jess had with her late grandpa as they were like best friends. They found an incredible way to include her grandpa in the wedding day that will not be forgotten! Jess had a teddy bear made made of her grandpa’s old flannel shirt. So he was definitely there in spirit and watching down on them among the other late family members.
The speech by Drew, the best man, highlighted some amazing times he and his wife have had with Jess & Sam. Together they have a cribbage club (think similarly to a poker night) and now we want to start our own cribbage club! It is our go to game to play 🙂 The maid of honor, Jamie, truly loves Jess! She cried for a bit during her speech, which showed how much they care for one another in their friendship! Jamie also mentioned the story of how Jess & Sam met with their avocado and Olaf story 🙂 If you haven’t heard the story, check it out from their engagement blog! Sam even gave Jess an avocado themed pre-wedding gift which can be seen in the photos below!
DANCE PARTY MONSTERS
Jess and Sam’s reception was unforgettable! Jess and her dad had the most fun first dance together. They started with a slow dance but her dad quickly moved on to his own thing! He was really getting into it and they were having so much fun. Her dad was snapping his fingers and getting low – which was loved by the crowd judging from the cheers we heard! We loved getting to see their carefree and loving bond! Even Sam and his mom really got into their own kind of dance towards the end of the mother-son dance with jumping all around!
Then when it was time for the bridal party to get on the dance floor, boy did the porch shake! Everyone was celebrating Jess and Sam in true fashion with some amazing dance moves! At one point, Krista, a bridesmaid, and I made eye contact and thought the porch might not make it through the night! We hope everyone had a blast the rest of the night and that the porch is still in good working order!
Jess and Sam are so fun together, energetic, and made the whole day so enjoyable for everyone. We loved getting to work with the bridal party throughout the day and could tell that they were all great friends who have so much fun together. Jess and Sam are such warm and inclusive people that we felt like we were at home and with friends all day! Jess and Sam, we wish you all the best and are so honored to have been included in your wedding!
